About CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

A black and white border collie dog lying on a rocky mountain ledge with a scenic view of distant hills and a partly cloudy sky in the background.

CBT can transform lives and is particularly helpful for persistent anxiety, low mood and depression, and also other more deep seated trauma based problems. I offer a free telephone consultation so that we can discuss the problems you are currently facing, and decide if we can work together.

I have a beautiful light and airy room at the Birchcliffe Centre in Hebden Bridge for face-to-face appointments, or I can offer sessions online over Zoom.

The dog pictured is Pi, who is registered with Pets As Therapy and joins us in the face to face sessions; she will interact as much or as little as you like!

CBT is the psychological treatment of choice in the NHS, because there is a great deal of evidence showing that it is highly effective for all kinds of emotional difficulties.

I work mainly with adults but have also worked for the Child and Adolescent mental Health Service (CAMHS) and will see older teenagers.
